Our Mission & Philosophy

Our Mission

Solaris Global Pathways exists for mission-driven leaders and professionals ready to create space with intention. We believe sustainable impact requires spaciousness, clarity, and time beyond immediate demands. Our self-guided course provides a thoughtful structure for planning a sabbatical or extended leave around what matters most—and creating space for what comes next.

Our Philosophy

We believe that rest enables stronger leadership and more meaningful work. When leaders are grounded—connected to their values, clear on their purpose, and able to prioritize their wellbeing—their impact increases.

Solaris offers a framework for planning intentional time away, bringing together reflection with practical considerations such as budgeting, timelines, logistics, and boundaries. People can use it to shape a full sabbatical, a shorter period away, or space within everyday life.

We believe a well-designed sabbatical is not an escape from meaningful work. It is an investment in living and leading with intention.

About the Founder

I founded Solaris Global Pathways after more than a decade working in people, culture, and inclusion across global organizations—and a lifetime of being deeply shaped by work.

I got my first job at 11, started working consistently at 16, worked two jobs through much of my twenties, and eventually spent more than a decade in Big Tech. For a long time, achievement, responsibility, and being someone others could depend on were simply part of how I moved through the world.

My professional background includes leadership training through Yale and McKinsey, along with certifications in yoga and mindfulness-based coaching. Across those experiences, I became increasingly interested in the relationship between how we work, how we care for ourselves, and the space we give ourselves to consider what matters beyond our immediate responsibilities.

Solaris was ultimately shaped by lived experience. When my role was “eliminated,” I turned an unexpected career transition into a sabbatical. What began as unplanned time away became an opportunity to rest, travel, reflect, and recognize just how disconnected I had become from my own wellbeing and sense of direction.

That experience changed how I think about time away. A sabbatical doesn’t have to be an escape from meaningful work or a rejection of ambition. It can be an intentional investment in how you want to live, work, and lead.

Today, Solaris brings what I learned into a self-guided sabbatical planning course for people who want to thoughtfully prepare for time away—whether that means months of solo travel, a shorter break, time closer to home, or simply beginning to plan for someday.

Create space for what matters most.
